The World Hydrography Day is intended to provide a broad range of opportunities to publicize the hydrographic work and services provided by national hydrographic offices, industry stakeholders, expert contributors and the scientific community. Everybody in the world benefits from sea, yet few people realize it. We ship food, technology, medicines, and memories. As the world’s population continues to grow, particularly in developing countries, low-cost and efficient maritime transport plays an essential role in growth and sustainable development. This all becomes possible due to the strenuous efforts of Hydrographers around the globe. World Hydrography Day is a great chance to increase public awareness about the science of hydrography. The International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) and its member states celebrate World Hydrography Day every year on June 21. As a proud member of IHO, Pakistan has been a part of this event since its beginning.
